CompTIA is constantly reviewing and updating the items on our certification exams with major revisions every three years. The CompTIA A+ Core Series is the latest version with expanded content on growing parts of the IT support role including an expansion of baseline security topics and a different approach to defining competency in operational procedures.
The English version of the 900 series exams will retire July 31, 2019. Other languages will retire October 1, 2019. Candidates must pass both exams in the same series to earn certification.

Exam Code CompTIA A+ 220-901 and 220-902 (Academy customers use the same codes) Candidates must complete both 901 and 902 to earn certification. Exams cannot be combined across the series.

Exam Description CompTIA A+ 220-901 covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, networking and troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues.

CompTIA A+ 220-902 covers installing and configuring operating systems including Windows, iOS, Android, Apple OS X and Linux. It also addresses security, the fundamentals of cloud computing and operational procedures.
